Mastering Pixels - Tips And Tricks For New Farmers

Are you into farming but have no land to farm? Are you captivated by farming simulations like Harvest Moon, Farmville, and Hay Day? Surely you’ll love Pixels too!

Pixels is a blockchain-backed game that is fun, easy-going, and captivating. It offers an open-ended world of farming and exploration, built one pixel at a time. It’s a play-to-earn game with a chance of earning Pixels tokens. The best part is, that you don’t need to mint anything, and it’s free to play!

Are you already signed in and just starting to play? But don’t know what to do? Here are some tips that can get you ahead in the game.

1. Complete the in-game quests and build your reputation

Pixels Reputation is a system that rewards the best and most loyal users. This is also your gateway to the marketplace where you can buy and sell all your harvested goods. You will need a 500 reputation score to access the marketplace.

The easiest way to earn Reputation is by connecting your email, phone number (use WhatsApp to access your phone number details), Discord Account, and Twitter Account. You can earn an additional 300 points if you complete the YGG Guild Superquest (available until April 30th).

2. Upgrade your Farming Skills

There are 17 skills that you need to upgrade to unlock various abilities in Pixels, and one of the most important skills to upgrade is Farming. To upgrade your Farming skills, look for farmland on the left side of Terravilla to farm your first Popberries. You must reach Level 2 Farming to access the Carnival’s soil plot to plant Orange Grumpkins and Cotton Candies.

3. Storage and Store Location

Pixels has limited storage; aside from your bag with 18 storage spaces, you can use the storage boxes located at The Drunken Goose with 12 slots and one in the Post Office with also 12 slots. Store only items that are useful in the game and discard unnecessary items.

You can store items you frequently use in your bag, such as the rusty water can, shears, axe, and seeds. Make sure to have some space in your inventory when collecting products.

4. Conserve and Manage Your Energy Wisely

Energy plays a crucial role in determining your efficiency and success. Every player in Pixels possessesan energy capacity of 1000. As you engage in various activities, your energy will gradually deplete. It is essential to be mindful of the actions that consume energy and the specific amounts they deplete.

As your energy level reaches 1, your character will begin to move slower, and you won’t be able to do anything until you regain your energy. This guide will help you understand energy expenditures. There are several ways to regain your energy, such as diving in the Sauna, consuming Energy drinks, and attending Energy-boosting events.

1. Sauna: Access the Sauna daily at 1 PM PST and wait for at least an hour to regain 240 energy points.
2. Energy Drinks: Consume energy drinks like Butterbrews and Muckchucks (although these can be expensive).
3. Events: Check the Event Calendar near Buck's Galore for events like the Energy Party and weekly AMAs that offer energy boosts for attending.

5. Choose an Industry to Focus On

There are 11 industries in Pixels: Farming, Mining, Sluggery, Kiln, Textile, Woodwork, Apiary, Winery, and Barbeques. The most popular industries are Mining, Apiary, Sluggery, and Farming. These base industries produce byproducts that are sold or used to make other products.

For example, the Apiary industry involves beekeeping, with honey and wax as its byproducts. Honey is one of the raw materials in making wine. You can sell these products as raw materials in the marketplace for coins.

To save on bookmarks, look for farmland with neighboring land that has multiple industries. Find land you want to settle on and check if the neighboring land is also good for farming and has industries. An example of good farmland should have 60 plots of soil, a windmill, a coop, and an industry.

6. Buy and Sell in the Marketplace.

Buy or sell your resources in the marketplace. Instead of crafting Butterbrew or Muckchuck to boost my energy, I just buy them in the market. Sometimes it is cheaper to just buy them instead of farming them. You can also sell your resources here; the more coins you have, the more energy wines give that “unlimited energy.”

Remember the Orange Grumpkin I mentioned earlier? Orange Grumpkins give zero energy when planted on the carnival soil plot, and 1.5 energy for watering it twice and shearing. Sell it for a good amount of coins and buy yourself a Butterbrew for energy. Repeat.

Tree cutting and mining are some of the low-energy tasks that yield higher revenue when selling them. There is a 10% tax on every item you sell in the Marketplace.

7. Hazel’s Task Board.

The task board is our everyday goal in Pixels. Task boards are the only way to earn pixels. Deliver items such as 10 Popberries with coins or pixels as a reward. Hazel will continuously give you tasks to complete until the next reset at 8:00 AM PH time. Non-VIPs can have at least a 3-7 Pixels drop rate per day and VIPs can have a 3-15 Pixels drop rate.

Remember to participate in Web3 Game Collaborations with Pixels. They give out rewards, airdrops, and loots. Store looted items for future use; you can sell them in the marketplace for a higher value or use them within Hazel’s task board.

8. Consider Purchasing VIP Tickets.

VIP tickets have their perks, such as an additional inventory slot, instant 400 energy every 8 hours in the Sauna (plus you can still use the non-VIP sauna for 240 energy), additional energy for daily farming, a 1% tax on all items sold in the Marketplace, and additional land bookmarks.

Final Take

Remember, as you delve, into the endless world of Pixels, patience, persistence, and creativity will be your greatest allies. Whether you’re planting crops, trading in the busy marketplace, or exploring hidden corners of all of the 5000 lands of Pixel world, embrace the journey.

Happy farming and see you in Chapter 2!
