Ember Sword
Ember Sword is a social sandbox MMORPG set in a player-driven universe where players can experience unique adventures.
It has been developed by a team of imaginative artists, engineers, and game designers, and offers a community-led and frictionless PvP and PVE player experience. Additionally, Ember Sword utilizes blockchain technology to allow players to truly own their digital gaming assets.
Ember Sword’s end-game content is designed to be engaging and thrilling for both PvP and PvE players. PvP players will find a competitive environment in the game, although it should be noted that it is not a pay-to-win game.
The gameplay is skill-based and those who excel in PvP can participate in high-stakes activities, such as fighting for control of Outlaw territory camps, where losing can result in the loss of most of one’s gear.
PvE players will encounter unique monsters and fierce beasts in the game world, and may have the opportunity to engage in epic battles against open-world bosses that appear at random locations.
These bosses may reward successful players with collectibles that commemorate their legendary victory. Ember Sword’s end-game content is a major focus for the developers, and they plan to continue refining and improving it based on player feedback after launch.
Ember Sword will first be released on PC, and will be accessible from both Mac and Windows via a browser or as a stand-alone client.
The developers of Ember Sword have also revealed their plans to begin working on mobile cross-play after the initial launch, allowing players to access the same game and accounts on mobile devices. The ultimate goal is to support as many platforms as possible in the future.
It has been emphasized that Ember Sword is not a pay-to-win game. The game’s concept is not centered around players spending money, and the inclusion of in-game purchases is a natural part of the gameplay experience.
The developers have not set any pricing for NFTs (such as cosmetics and swords), and players are free to decide their own prices for buying and selling these items.
The World of Ember Sword
Ember Sword’s virtual world, the moon of Thanabus, is a constantly evolving and exciting place to explore. It is divided into four nations: Solarwood, Duskeron, Edisau, and Sevrend. Each nation contains three types of territories: Kingship, Wilderness, and Outlaw.
Kingship territories are designated for PvE activities, resource collection, NPC interactions, bosses, and quests. These areas are governed by the game’s community and feature a dynamic and changing landscape.
Wilderness territories are primarily PvE areas that offer a wealth of resources, monsters, and bosses, as well as a variety of NPCs. Players may encounter other players from opposing nations in these territories and can choose to attack or simply continue on their mission.
Outlaw territories are located on the borders between two nations and are home to rare resources and high-level monsters. However, these areas are also dangerous, as other players may try to attack and steal loot.
In these lawless territories, players must fight for control of Outlaw camps, which can reward them with rare collectible cosmetics if they are successful.
Gameplay
Ember Sword’s combat system does not utilize classes, enabling players to create their own personalized sets of abilities by using a wide range of weapons. This means that players are not restricted to a specific weapon type or play style.
They have the freedom to switch between weapons and adapt to different combat situations as they see fit. Whether they want to use a bow for ranged attacks or switch to a sword and shield for close combat, the choice is theirs.
Weapon Types
In Ember Sword, there are three planned weapon types: melee, ranged, and energy. Each type includes a range of different weapons, such as one-handed swords and two-handed swords in the melee category.
As players use each weapon type, they will level it up, unlocking new abilities as they progress through the game.
Armor Types
Ember Sword will offer three types of armor: Heavy (plate), Medium (leather), and Light (cloth). Players will be able to mix and match different sets of armor to suit their preferred play style. Each armor type will provide bonuses specific to that type.
Skills
Progression in Ember Sword also involves the acquisition of combat skills, allowing players to tailor their playstyle to their preferences.
There are many skills currently planned for inclusion in the game, including Mining, Lumberjacking, Fishing, Skinning, Harvesting, Smelting, Tanning, Weaving, Woodworking, Armor smithing, Weapon smithing, Jewelry smithing, Cooking, Melee, Ranged, and Energy, with the possibility of additional skills being added as the game continues to develop.
Ember Sword Land
While owning land is not a central part of Ember Sword’s gameplay, it is a key aspect of the game’s world design. Land in Ember Sword is represented by Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) that can be purchased, developed, and traded by players in the form of different types of land plots.
The in-game size of a land plot is approximately one screen. There are four types of land plots in the game: regular plots, settlement plots, town plots (consisting of four plots), and city plots (consisting of 16 plots).
The dedicated landowners in Ember Sword help to create a dynamic and constantly evolving world that remains interesting and alive for all players. Rather than being controlled solely by the game developers, the game world is shaped by the actions and decisions of thousands of players, creating a living community.
Ember Sword’s world is owned and governed by the game’s community of players. Land in the game is represented by Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) (ERC-721 tokens), which are divided into different types of land plots that players can choose to purchase, develop, and trade.
These plots can be built upon to create a personalized in-game environment. Regular plots are the most basic form of land available in Ember Sword. These plots come with the Sir/Lady title and may have additional features that are revealed as the game world evolves.
These features could include campsites, NPC houses, resource deposits, monster spawns, and more.
$EMBER
Ember Sword’s in-game token, $EMBER, is a custom-built ERC-20 token that serves as the foundation for a wide range of in-game activities. Players can use $EMBER to purchase land, cosmetics, pets, and mounts, but it cannot be used to acquire items that give players an unfair advantage. The developers of Ember Sword will announce the launch date for the public token on all platforms once it has been finalized internally.
